Message From Principal

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”
-Nelson Mandela

We at St. Helen’s believe in making this weapon available to one and all. St. Helen’s goes that extra mile in reaching out to all people and assures them that they have a school that ensures that each child who enters its gates is empowered with education and turns them into independent individuals.

St. Helen’s believes in inculcating holistic learning of an individual. From the primary years itself, the curriculum is designed in a way so as to relate the theoretical learning of the class to situations that children face in their daily lives. We give them an opportunity of experiential learning by taking them for field trips, educational tours and market visits. We have confidence in the methodology of learning by doing which is practiced across all classes in the school.

St. Helen's School

Message From Foundresses

I vividly remember the founding years of the school in which my husband and I embarked on a journey to provide education and enrich lives of students, in the city of Howrah. From the very first day at school our motto was to create individuals who would be self-reliant and virtuous. We knew our journey to sleepless nights had begun as we constantly fought with ourselves leaving no stone unturned in bringing about the best for every individual, be it in academics or co-curricular.

I remember very fondly and gratefully those, who had been instrumental in shaping this great institution and bond with us, with such intense affection and fellowship.

In Remembrance Of
Our Founder

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.”
-Matthew 19:14: The Holy Bible

Hailing from a Salesian background and understanding the need for education was the belief with which our founder Late Paul Mangalam began his journey in the shaping of the school. His vision, mission, belief in God the Almighty and St. Don Bosco is clearly reflected in his works which he did while building the St. Helen’s family each brick at a time.
